Although we hope that you are aware of the Trust and what is does perhaps these few points about this year’s Appeal will help:

The special projects for this year’s Appeal will support these projects within the Israel movement for Progressive Judaism (IMPJ):

• - Supporting Progressive rabbis in their work to develop congregations and help absorb refugees – as (unlike their Orthodox colleagues) they receive no funds from the State;
• - The World Union for Progressive Judaism’s Migrant Absorption Centre;
• - The Israel Religious Advocacy Centre and the Legal Action Centre for Olim – including the work to combat gender-segregation in the public sphere of Israeli life; the Women of the Wall etc.;
• - The IMPJ’s Aliyah Department; &
• - The Nitzanim pre-school – the first school in Jerusalem to address the special needs of children of refugees and migrant workers.

As you can see, the IMPJ is at the very forefront of working to keep Israel strong and healthy – and the place described in the Declaration of Independence offering freedom and equality in religion. Please add to that strength by making your pledge to the UIA Progressive Trust.
