Rabbi Adi Cohen and Temple David are delighted to present their mission to Israel on 17 March to 1 April 2016, and invite attendees to join from around the UPJ region.

Temple David's Mission to Israel provides our congregations with a firsthand perspective of Israel by meeting with the culturally diverse population, engaging with its vibrant society, learning about the strategic and social challenges facing Israel today, and touring the historically and geographically significant land. Our participants will hear and learn from diverse political and religious perspectives, will meet with representatives of the Israeli Movement for Progressive Judaism, the WUPJ, the Druze and many others.

We will explore the many fragrances and tastes that Israel has to offer, visiting markets, wineries and restaurants in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Tzfat and other places. Participants will visit key places of historical, religious and contemporary interest.

Travel will be on our own private bus.

Participants will engage in a considerable amount of walking and some wilderness hiking that may be physically challenging.

We will visit Israeli Reform congregations over the weekends and rejoice in Purim celebrations, Israeli-style.

Our local guise are the "israel experts", a fully-licensed Israel tour operator with head offices in Israel. They are logistics experts and are accredited tour guides and informal educators (www.israelexperts.com).

Before heading to Israel, participants will join together for a Skype orientation with Israel Epxerts staff to discuss the current realities, the people of Israel and the issues facing this area of the global community, to ensure that they are fully prepared for the mission.
