Join celebration of Rabbi Ninio's Silver Jubilee anniversary
On Sunday 9 September, 2.00-5.00pm, Emanuel Synagogue will host the Silver Jubilee for Rabbi Jacqueline Ninio OAM, in celebration of her 25 impactful years of service and commitment to Australia’s largest Progressive congregation. Rabbi Ninio shattered the glass ceiling a quarter-century ago when she became the first female rabbi at Emanuel Synagogue, the seventh Australian-born Progressive rabbi, and just the third Australian-born female rabbi. She was the first female rabbi to be awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the Jewish community and interfaith organisation; her journey is a testament to her uniqueness, fortitude and talent.
