Dear President,

In this period in our nation’s history, when social harmony and cohesion have never been more fragile, it’s crucially important that we support organistions like the Council in their dialogical work to bring people of different faiths to a deeper understanding of one another.

The CCJ continues to be one of the premier interfaith programs in Australia. It is a model for what it means to seek interfaith engagement at a time when many other inter-religious programs have failed. Not for many years has there been such an intense need for cross-cultural understanding.

In this spirit, I am contacting you to ask for your active support with our February 2025 Conference, “Heads, Hearts and Hands: What can dialogue do for us?” This is a very special conference in that it will be attended by the Executive of the International Committee of the CCJ based in Germany and chaired by the leading scholar of Jewish Chritian relations, Rabbi Dr David Sandmel.

In your capacity as a shul president, I’d be very grateful if you would consider attending the conference yourself, and let your colleagues and community know about it by placing the conference notice in your congregational bulletins and encouraging congregants to register for it.

This is a unique opportunity to explore dialogue in a very hands-on way. I hope we’ll all take advantage of it.

With thanks and blessings, Rabbi Fred Morgan AM
